LEED Credits

Anna Cabo Artglass tiles are sustainable.  Our tile qualifies for numerous LEED credits

We focus on Sustainable and Local Manufacturing
Our tile is handmade in Southern California (92008).  Our studio is both day-lit and open-air, meaning we have no need for either heat or air conditioning. We recycle our waste and use energy efficient kilns with computer controllers for optimal and efficient manners.

MR 4.1/4.2: Recycled Content (1 – 2 Points)
All Anna Cabo Tile have recycled glass content. Over 25% of the material is recycled.
The glass used in the tile is manufactured within 500-mile radius of the studio.

MR 5.1/5.2:  Regional Materials (2 points)
One point is awarded if 10% of the building materials used is extracted, harvested or recovered as well as being manufactured within a 500-mile radius of the project site and the calculation is based on the cost of the total materials value.  95% of the Artglass tile materials all come from Southern California and can contribute to the credit if the project is located within 500 miles of 92008.
A second point is awarded if the total percentage of the cost of regional materials is at least 20%.
The 500 mile radius includes the following major cities:  Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego,
San Jose, Sacramento, Phoenix/Scottsdale and Tucson.

MR Prerequisite 1: Storage and Collection of Recyclables Required (1 point)
All Anna Cabo Tile packaging is recyclable. We used recycled cardboard for our packing boxes, re-purposed crates for pallet shipping, and biodegradable popcorn filling to pad the tile during transit.

Note: Points are only possible – it is up to the builder/architect/owner to pursue approval of the points by USGBC.
